- Hornby runs on individual wells and septic systems. PLEASE use water sparingly and flush only when necessary. Keep shower time to a minimum and only dispose of septic friendly products.
- Hornby has 1 ATM machine at the Co-op Store and the Union Bay Credit Union with limited hours.
- There is no public transportation available on the island
- There is a gas station
- Two laundromats are available. One at the ferry terminal and one at Joe King park
- A beer and wine store plus a liquor store are now open on the island as well as a winery, meadery and spirit distillery
- There is no refuse system available for RVs
- Hornby pioneered one of the first recycling depots in North America. It is open to the public and offers a 'free store'. Although garbage drop off is available at the depot (for a 'tipping fee', per bag), removal of the garbage and disposing of it off island is strongly encouraged.
- Fishing licenses are available for purchase at the gas bar
- Bikes, skim boards, kayaks and boats are all available for rent
- Bicycling is a great way to see Hornby. Please use the roadside trails for safety and to avoid congestion on our busy, narrow roads
- There is a large network of healing arts including acupressure, acupuncture, Reiki, massage therapy, aromatherapy and more
